Aikido is a Japanese martial art based on a system of throws, joint locks, pins and other techniques derived from Ju-jutsu and Kenjutsu. It is a highly effective system of self-defence and can be used against single or multiple attackers.

As a non-competetive martial art, emphasis is placed on building healthy bodies and minds in a cooperative environment where senior students are actively encouraged to train with less advanced students.

Chief instructor

Albi Solicari Sensei (3rd Dan Aikikai) has over 20 years of experience in traditional Iwama Takemusu Aikido and is a qualified British Aikido Board instructor.

Practicing Aikido can help to improve stamina, agility and coordination, as well as reducing stress and increasing your self-confidence. As with all martial arts, the benefits of regular training filter through to many aspects of daily life.

All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced. Agatsu Aikido Club is an established martial arts club based in North London.
